AI Research Scientist - Agentic AI and Generative AI for Mobility Solutions
We are seeking a highly motivated AI Research Scientist with a PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. This role focuses on advancing Agentic AI and Generative AI to transform mobility services—encompassing any systems that enable movement from point A to B, including vehicles, support services, and adaptable scenarios across land, water, or other environments. You will bridge advanced AI/ML research with practical implementations, developing proof-of-concept prototypes and addressing key challenges in AI safety and alignment. Ideal candidates will have strong research acumen, implementation skills in Python, and experience with tools like LangChain and AutoGen. Fresh PhD graduates or those with 2+ years of experience are encouraged to apply, particularly from tech industries, car companies, Silicon Valley firms, or related domains like medical devices where transferable AI skills apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead applied research in Agentic AI, including agent design, orchestration strategies, tool integration, communication protocols, experiments, and evaluation to enhance mobility solutions.
- Develop next-generation AI/ML systems using Generative AI, foundational models (e.g., LLMs, VLMs), fine-tuning, and domain-specific applications to solve real-world mobility challenges.
- Identify research gaps, pioneer novel approaches, and ensure AI systems are reliable, trustworthy, scalable, and aligned with safety standards.
- Design, prototype, and implement frameworks and algorithms in Python, leveraging libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, AutoGen, LangChain, and custom orchestration layers.
- Produce proof-of-concept demonstrations, analyze research data, and deliver impactful findings through publications, technical reports, presentations, or code implementations.
- Collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, applying AI tools like prompting techniques to mobility scenarios, including transferable research from fields like medical devices or fluid dynamics.
Required Qualifications
- Education: PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline with a focus on AI/Machine Learning.
- Expertise: Proven research experience in Generative AI, Agentic AI, AI safety, and alignment, demonstrated through papers, projects, or publications.
- Technical Skills: Strong background in foundational AI models (LLMs, VLMs, large-scale architectures), including fine-tuning, evaluation, experiments, and domain adaptation.
- Programming Proficiency: Advanced skills in Python and major AI/ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), with the ability to code implementations and produce proof-of-concept prototypes.
- Research Capabilities: Demonstrated ability to define research problems, analyze data, conduct experiments, and communicate findings effectively. Experience in mobility-related research or transferable domains (e.g., tech industry, car companies, Silicon Valley) is highly valued.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of post-graduate experience in AI research or implementation.
- Publications or projects in Agentic AI, Generative AI, or mobility applications.
- Familiarity with AI tools for prompting, orchestration, and integration in diverse scenarios.
- Experience in tech hubs like Silicon Valley or industries such as automotive, where AI drives innovation.
At ADAPT Technology, we value candidates who can demonstrate both research depth and practical implementation skills during interviews. If you have a passion for using AI to revolutionize mobility—whether through land-based vehicles, water-based systems, or supportive services—apply today to contribute to groundbreaking work.
