Temporary Session Assistant

The Georgia House of Representatives will be hiring temporary full-time employees for the 2026 session of the General Assembly. Successful candidates will immediately begin employment in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The temporary session employment, which is expected to last approximately three months, will end on the day the General Assembly adjourns sine die (which will be close to the first of April).

Session employees will assist Legislative Assistants with providing professional and dependable administrative support to state representatives to enable them to successfully fulfill their duties during Session. Although future full-time employment is not guaranteed for session employees, many current full-time Administrative Assistants began their employment as temporary employees. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

High School degree or equivalent. 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

·        Ability to perform multiple tasks accurately and efficiently under time constraints.

·        Ability to work both independently and cooperatively with the Administrative Assistant.

·        Must be reliable, punctual, and capable of maintaining confidentiality.

·        Ability to perform job functions on behalf of state representatives free of favoritism and partisanship.

·        Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.

·        Proficiency in typing.

Interviews for qualified candidates will take place in mid-December.
