Orthopedic Advanced Practice Provider
Position Summary
A well-established and growing orthopedic practice is seeking a compassionate and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the care team. The APP will work collaboratively with orthopedic surgeons to provide high-quality care for patients with degenerative joint disease, musculoskeletal injuries, and general orthopedic conditions.
This position involves a balanced mix of clinic, surgical, and inpatient responsibilities, supporting both pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing joint replacement and reconstructive procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Duties
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations, including medical histories, physical examinations, and follow-up assessments.
- Order and interpret diagnostic studies such as X-rays, MRIs, and laboratory tests.
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Perform office-based procedures including joint injections, aspirations, splinting, casting, and wound care.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, surgical preparation, and post-operative rehabilitation.
- Ensure continuity of care between clinic, hospital, and rehabilitation settings.
Surgical & Perioperative Support
- Serve as first or second assist in orthopedic surgical procedures, including total joint replacements and other operative interventions.
- Support pre-operative planning and post-operative rounding for surgical patients.
- Manage inpatient consults, dressing changes, and discharge planning.
Administrative & Collaborative Duties
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to ensure efficient patient flow and optimal outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and workflow optimization.
- Support coordination of clinic and surgical schedules to promote operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
- Master’s degree in nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant Studies (PA).
- Current state license as a Nurse Practitioner (CRNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C).
- National board certification (AANP, ANCC, or NCCPA).
- Active DEA registration (or eligibility).
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Experience
- 1–3 years of experience in orthopedic or surgical care preferred, not required.
- Experience in joint replacement or general orthopedics strongly desired.

Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time, Monday–Friday schedule (with occasional hospital rounding or on-call coverage as needed).
