Program Coordinator

Program Coordinator for IDEA Studio (Part-Time, In-Person)
January 19 – May | Dorchester, MA
2 days/week | $25/hr + paid prep time + paid commuting time

About the Role
We are seeking a Program Coordinator to support a hands-on, experiential learning program for high school students focused on college & career readiness. This role takes place in-person twice a week at a high school in Dorchester, MA. You will help guide students through real-world challenges, projects, and skill-building activities rooted in engineering, design, and creative problem-solving (engineering degree not required!).

This position is designed for emerging leaders—people interested in developing their skills as project managers, mentors, and changemakers. Teaching experience is welcome but not required. We will provide training, curriculum, and ongoing coaching.

What You’ll Do

  • Facilitate project-based learning sessions with students in grades 9–12
  • Support hands-on engineering, design, and problem-solving challenges (at whatever skill level you bring — we’ll grow with you)
  • Mentor students through college & career readiness tasks
  • Deliver a short “TED Talk–style” mini-curriculum based on your own passions or expertise
  • Collaborate with staff to refine and adapt provided curriculum
  • Build strong relationships with students and model leadership, curiosity, and growth
  • Participate in coaching sessions and team check-ins
  • Work with schools as a client

Who You Are

  • A college student, recent graduate, or current master’s student (all majors welcome)
  • Someone with experience managing peers or near-peers or facilitating group projects
  • Excited about project-based and experiential learning
  • Curious, adaptable, and eager to learn through hands-on work
  • Comfortable being coached and trying new instructional or facilitation strategies
  • Passionate about supporting young people and helping shape the next generation of innovators and leaders

What We Provide

  • Curriculum, training, and continuous mentorship
  • Space and support to design a small passion-driven “TED Talk” experience for students
  • Paid prep time and commuting time
  • A supportive team committed to developing non-educators into strong facilitators, leaders, and program managers
  • Potential continued work in the summer at the same or high pay rate

To Apply
Please submit a resume and a brief statement about why you’re excited to work with high school students in an experiential learning environment.
