Educational Experience
As a Data Analyst Intern, you will receive training that builds on classroom knowledge and academic experience, closely supervised by experienced professionals. This internship aims to enhance your skills, providing you with practical knowledge and experience that are transferable to any similar business in the field. You will have the opportunity to engage in real-world projects, gaining insights into the data engineering and business analytics strategies of a professional sports organization.
Key Learning Areas
- Data Platform Architecture: Learn to design, develop, and implement data platform architecture and integration strategies to support the entire Business Intelligence team.
- ETL/ELT Processes: Gain experience creating and maintaining ETL/ELT processes, ensuring data standardization and integrity across multiple data sources.
- Data Hygiene: Implement best practices for data hygiene and effectively manage issue tracking within data pipelines.
- Data Management Operations: Oversee all aspects of data management operations, including resolving database problems, optimizing queries, and managing data storage.
- Data Transformation: Transform and consolidate raw data from various sources into analytics-ready data models.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with non-technical business stakeholders to gather requirements and build strong relationships.
- Data Requirements Analysis: Work closely with the Business Strategy team to understand data requirements for current and future projects.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python languages, with the ability to apply them effectively.
- Demonstrated experience with various data forms, including data warehouses/relational SQL, NoSQL, JSON, and unstructured data environments (e.g., PIG, HIVE, Impala).
- Strong understanding in developing data structures and pipelines to organize, collect, and standardize data for generating insights and addressing reporting needs.
- Understanding of how to conceptulize creating data pipelines for sales systems, such as ticketing data for sports events.
- A motivated team player with a positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
