Sleepaway Summer Camp — Seasonal Position
Position Overview
We are seeking energetic and responsible college students or recent graduates to join our team! As a General Counselor, you’ll guide campers through daily activities, support cabin life, and help create a safe, fun, and inclusive camp community. This is a residential position (on-site housing provided) at a traditional sleepaway camp, requiring strong leadership, teamwork, and enthusiasm for working with children.
Key Responsibilities Include…
Camper Supervision & Cabin Life
- Live with campers, ensuring their safety, wellbeing, and positive social experience.
- Lead cabin routines, participate in evening programs, and foster a supportive community.
Activity Leadership
- Help run daily camp activities across sports, arts, adventure, and more.
- Engage campers with fun, age-appropriate experiences and support activity specialists.
Teamwork & Camp Operations
- Collaborate with fellow staff and assist with special events and traditions.
- Follow all camp policies and contribute to a positive, energetic camp culture.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with children (babysitting, coaching, tutoring, volunteering, etc.) preferred.
- Passion for working with children and creating a fun, inclusive environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to live and work in a residential camp setting for 6–10 weeks.
- Willingness to disconnect from technology and engage fully in camp life.
