Job Summary
Beverly Music Academy is a thriving, professional private lesson studio located in downtown Beverly, MA. We are seeking a passionate and reliable Voice Instructor to join our team of experts.
Our mission is to support our instructors: we handle all marketing, billing, recitals, rent, and administrative work so you can focus 100% on teaching. The Role
- Instruction: Provide engaging, one-on-one private voice lessons to students of all ages and levels.
- Curriculum: You are the expert. You will bring your own curriculum and teaching methodology based on your experience. You have the freedom to customize lessons to fit each student’s needs.
- Administration: The only required administrative task is taking attendance in our online portal at the end of the day (takes less than 60 seconds).
Required Qualifications
- Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.A. or B.M. in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts, or a related field (students/alumni from local institutions like Endicott, Salem State, and Gordon College is a plus).
- Technical Skill: High proficiency in vocal performance and pedagogy (teaching methodology).
- Reliability: Proven ability to manage a schedule and demonstrate professionalism and punctuality.
- Soft Skills: Must be enthusiastic, patient, and able to create a positive and encouraging learning environment for students of all ages.
Compensation & Schedule
- Compensation: $35 - $49.50 per hour for teaching time based on experience.
- Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours. Ideal candidates will have consistent availability during at least one weekday 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM
- Status: This role is for an Independent Contractor (1099). BMA acts solely as a facility and administrative service provider.
- Payment Schedule: We pay teachers at the end of the month for all attendance submitted, without withholding taxes. You will receive a 1099 tax form.
- Cancelation Policy: You set your own policy, if a student refuses to pay, we still pay the teacher.
