Beverly Music Academy is a thriving, professional private lesson studio located in downtown Beverly, MA.  We are seeking a passionate and reliable Voice Instructor to join our team of experts.
Our mission is to support our instructors: we handle all marketing, billing, recitals, rent, and administrative work so you can focus 100% on teaching. This is an excellent, high-paying opportunity for music majors, recent graduates, and professionals seeking flexible, hassle-free teaching work near campus.

The Role

  • Instruction: Provide engaging, one-on-one private voice lessons to students of all ages and levels.
  • Curriculum: You are the expert. You will bring your own curriculum and teaching methodology based on your experience. You have the freedom to customize lessons to fit each student’s needs.
  • Administration: The only required administrative task is taking attendance in our online portal at the end of the day (takes less than 60 seconds).

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Currently pursuing or recently completed a B.A. or B.M. in Music, Music Education, Performing Arts, or a related field (students/alumni from local institutions like Endicott, Salem State, and Gordon College is a plus).
  • Technical Skill: High proficiency in vocal performance and pedagogy (teaching methodology).
  • Reliability: Proven ability to manage a schedule and demonstrate professionalism and punctuality.
  • Soft Skills: Must be enthusiastic, patient, and able to create a positive and encouraging learning environment for students of all ages.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Compensation: $35 - $49.50 per hour for teaching time based on experience.
  • Schedule: Part-time, flexible hours. Ideal candidates will have consistent availability during at least one weekday 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM
  • Status: This role is for an Independent Contractor (1099). BMA acts solely as a facility and administrative service provider.
  • Payment Schedule: We pay teachers at the end of the month for all attendance submitted, without withholding taxes.  You will receive a 1099 tax form.
  • Cancelation Policy: You set your own policy, if a student refuses to pay, we still pay the teacher.

Interested candidates should submit the following materials:

  • Resume (highlighting teaching experience and music background).
  • Cover Letter (explaining your teaching philosophy and why you are interested in this position).
  • Link to a Video Recording (optional but highly recommended) showcasing your vocal performance abilities.

We look forward to reviewing your application!
