About Us:
The U.S. Department of Transportation (US DOT) Federal Highway Administration (FHWA)
manages the annual Department of Transportation Summer Internship (DOTSI) program. For over two decades, the DOTSI has served as a workforce development tool to foster a pool of qualified candidates to fill mission critical occupations and positions within the transportation sector. 

DOTSI provides summer employment opportunities to students, encouraging their entry into the transportation field by providing valuable work experiences that serve to facilitate their professional development within the industry.


Program Overview:
DOTSI is excited to offer undergraduate, graduate and law students a 10-week Paid Summer Transportation Internship provides with opportunities to sharpen your research, writing, and oral presentation skills while receiving hands-on work experience. Interns participate in field trips to national transportation projects and facilities, conferences, workshops, decision-making meetings, and special events specific to their work assignments.

Key Details:

• Stipend: $5,500 - $7,500 for the duration of the program
• Benefits: Airfare, housing, and short-term health insurance coverage
• Experience: Work on real-world important Transportation projects, network with Industry Professionals, and enhance your resume.

Qualifications:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Currently enrolled in any major Degree Program
• Law school requirements must be met (if applicable)
• Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Commitment to the full program duration (10 weeks)
