Job Posting: Intervention Specialist – Multisensory Learning Environment
Location: Miller Ridge Elementary School

Position Summary:
Miller Ridge Elementary is seeking a dedicated, student-centered Intervention Specialist to serve in our Multisensory Learning Environment, a specialized classroom designed to support students with diverse academic, sensory, and behavioral needs. This classroom features a low student-to-teacher ratio, collaborative support from two paraprofessionals, and a strong focus on structured, multisensory instruction aligned to IEP goals.

We are looking for a professional who is passionate about inclusive practices, skilled in evidence-based interventions, and committed to helping students grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide specially designed instruction (SDI) using multisensory, structured techniques to meet students’ individualized needs.

Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with federal and state guidelines.

Use data from multiple sources to plan instruction, track progress, and inform decision-making.

Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families.

Implement behavior supports that promote regulation, engagement, and positive social skills.

Foster a classroom environment that is safe, structured, engaging, and responsive to students’ sensory needs.

Participate in MTSS, ETR/IEP meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Qualifications:

Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License (or ability to obtain).

Knowledge of multisensory instruction, structured literacy, or Orton-Gillingham–based approaches preferred.

Experience supporting students with diverse learning or behavioral needs is highly desirable.

Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Commitment to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and student-centered classroom environment.
