We are expanding into R&D and early-stage clinical data innovation and are seeking a Senior Consultant to play a foundational role in building our R&D data consulting capability while co-developing an early product that will assess whether clinical development data meets FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) principles, aligned with industry guidance such as the Pistoia Alliance.

We are currently looking for a Senior Consultant – R&D Data & FAIR Innovation

to join our growing team in New York.

DAY IN THE LIFE

Lead and shape new solutions. Act as a core contributor to the design, positioning, and evolution of our FAIR Data Assessment Offering & Product for early clinical development, including frameworks, methodology, evaluation criteria, and maturity scoring.

Bridge science, data, technology, and business. Translate complex R&D and data interoperability concepts into clear, compelling narratives, visuals, and storylines that resonate with clinical, research, informatics, and business stakeholders.

Drive delivery and execution. Support client engagements from discovery through implementation, including assessments, maturity scoring, workshops, roadmap creation, and value realization support.

Support pitches and business development. Develop proposals, pitch materials, and demo scripts; participate in client discussions; collaborate with SMEs and product development leads to turn technical FAIR intelligence into an intuitive, value-centered story.

Co-create IP and thought leadership. Create reusable frameworks, templates, and industry-relevant content such as POVs, whitepapers, benchmark models, and conference-ready materials.

Collaborate in a multi-disciplinary environment. Work alongside data experts, product developers, and scientific SMEs to align product development with real-world R&D use cases and friction points.

Shape a new practice. Help establish foundational processes, playbooks, capability areas, and go-to-market materials for our emerging R&D Data & FAIR consulting practice.

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You are a strategic translator, scientific storyteller, and trusted advisor. You thrive where early science, data standards, product strategy, and client communication meet.

The salary range for this position is $120,000 – $132,000 USD annually.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Clinical, Engineering, Data/Information Science, or related field)

4+ years of relevant experience in life sciences, R&D, clinical development, scientific informatics, data strategy, data governance, or consulting

Proven ability to translate technical or scientific concepts into client-friendly language, storylines, and visual narratives

Experience building consulting deliverables including assessments, frameworks, workshops, and recommendations

Strong written and verbal communication with experience presenting to cross-functional audiences including scientific, technical, and business stakeholders

Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to work in-office at least 3 days per week (NYC hybrid)

Preferred:

• Familiarity with FAIR data principles, metadata management, ontologies, interoperability, or research data standards
• Experience in product ideation, requirements definition, or early-stage prototyping
• Prior consulting experience supporting pharma, biotech, CRO, or research organizations
• Knowledge of R&D data platforms (e.g., LIMS, ELN, CDMS, CTMS) or data standards (e.g., CDISC, HL7/FHIR)
