Bilingual Community Health Coordinator

The Montefiore School Health Program (MSHP) has an exciting opportunity to join the Community Health Division as a Bilingual Community Health Coordinator (CHC). The CHC is responsible for conducting outreach, enrollment, and health education programming at our MSHP sites.  The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree and be proficient in Spanish (written and spoken).  This is a 100% on-site position. The salary is $64,350.
 

The candidate will:
• Facilitate classroom-based health education lessons on various health topics, including condom and birth control demonstrations.
• Lead outreach for MSHP tabling, STI testing drives, vision screenings, and other health initiatives at different school campuses.
• Conduct high volume of in-person, telephonic, and virtual outreach to MSHP families.
• Create promotional materials, bulletin boards, and presentations to promote MSHP.
• Complete Family Planning Benefit Program applications with eligible students.
• Handle set up/clean up, taking minutes, data entry, assembling incentives, and other clerical support for meetings and events.
• Perform other duties as assigned by CHD leadership to support MSHP families.
 

Required Qualifications and Competencies:
 

- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Community Health or a related field
- Spanish proficiency (written and spoken) required
- Flexible schedule to work some evenings and Saturdays required
- 1+ years of experience facilitating health education lessons or workshops
- Strong public speaking skills presenting to small and large groups
- Experience or high comfort level in presenting sexual and reproductive health topics
- Ability to travel independently to MSHP meetings, events, and trainings
- Able to lift and transport 10-15 lbs of resources for CHD events and to/from storage facility
