Responsibilities and Duties

  • Focus on Building Automation Systems Sales in the New York Construction and Service Markets
  • Interpret mechanical engineering documents
  • Observe field conditions to develop quotes/bills of material as it relates to construction and service projects daily
  • Self-starter but also able to work in a highly collaborative team environment
  • Candidates should have the ability to estimate their own projects as well as problem solve issues that arise from projects sold
  • Interpersonal communication skills and ability to speak to customers, engineers, and employees are a must
  • Candidates must have the ability to plan, prioritize and meet deadlines to meet customer needs
  • Establish, develop, and maintain productive relationships with engineers, mechanical contractors, general contractors, developers and building owners
  • Interpret engineering documents, plans, specifications, and field conditions to develop scopes of work and project estimates
  • Work with installation and project management teams to review quotes and budgets for projects and execute project kickoffs
  • Use their knowledge to find solutions for customers’ needs even if an off the shelf solution does not exist
  • Communicate promptly with customers, contractors, and fellow employees
  • Understand the operation of modern DDC and legacy pneumatic control systems
  • Solve customer issues and address concerns to preserve customer relationships
  • Attend walkthroughs and onsite meetings as required to assess site conditions and develop scopes of work
  • Provide customer presentations on the latest technologies and solutions from Control Technologies, Inc (CTI)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in an Engineering Field or equivalent
  • Mechanical or 2-4 years of relevant industry experience
  • Familiarity with cost estimating and CRM tools
  • Experience with relevant manufacturers: Distech Controls, Trane, Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Niagara, Schneider, Alerton, ALC etc
  • HVAC and/or Industrial system knowledge preferred
  • Candidate should understand the operation of hot water/chilled water systems, boilers, chillers, air-handling units, constant/variable volume systems, and have knowledge of other HVAC equipment and their use
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage their workload
  • A positive attitude and level-headed approach to their work
  • OSHA 30 preferred but not required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills required with strong communication and organization skills
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record
