Position Summary:
We are seeking Summer Industrial Estimating Interns who are detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn. This role offers hands-on experience in estimating for industrial water and wastewater piping systems.
Responsibilities:
- Gain proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, with a focus on material and scope identification for project estimation.
- Performed detailed take-offs for the following components:
- Doors, overhead doors, and windows
- Painted and coated surfaces, including calculation of square footage
- Bathroom accessories
- Furnishings and miscellaneous accessories
- Interpret plan and section views of construction drawings.
- Organize bid documents, including specifications and drawings.
- Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to solicit pricing.
- Collaborate with the estimating team to clarify scope and requirements.
Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- General understanding of wastewater, landfill, and industrial applications.
- Ability to read specifications and perform quantity takeoffs.
- Basic proficiency in Bluebeam (preferred), Microsoft Excel, and Word.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
