Industrial Estimating Intern

Position Summary:

We are seeking Summer Industrial Estimating Interns who are detail-oriented, organized, and eager to learn. This role offers hands-on experience in estimating for industrial water and wastewater piping systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Gain proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, with a focus on material and scope identification for project estimation.
  • Performed detailed take-offs for the following components:
  • Doors, overhead doors, and windows
  • Painted and coated surfaces, including calculation of square footage
  • Bathroom accessories
  • Furnishings and miscellaneous accessories
  • Interpret plan and section views of construction drawings.
  • Organize bid documents, including specifications and drawings.
  • Communicate with vendors and subcontractors to solicit pricing.
  • Collaborate with the estimating team to clarify scope and requirements.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent experience.
  • General understanding of wastewater, landfill, and industrial applications.
  • Ability to read specifications and perform quantity takeoffs.
  • Basic proficiency in Bluebeam (preferred), Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
