Coordinator for Sponsored Students and Special Programs - Sponsored Students & Special Programs

Summary of Job Duties:

The Coordinator for Sponsored Students and Special Programs
(SSSP) supports international sponsored students, visiting sponsored students, and visiting sponsored scholars participating in academic activities at the University of Arkansas. This position reports to the Director of SSSP and is responsible for facilitating the admission, academic advising, monitoring, and graduation of sponsored students; assisting the GSIE financial team regarding third-party billing processes; working with the Registrar’s Office to ensure program sponsors receive transcripts and degree completion letters; planning and supporting SSSP and GSIE activities including pre-arrival, onboarding, and orientation services; and coordinating other educational and cultural events with the aim of cultivating a sense of international community and maximizing learning experiences at the University. 

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty. Some evening and weekend hours may also be required. 

The ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others is imperative.

 

 

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

Applicable equivalencies may be considered on the above qualifications.

Experience using Microsoft Office suite

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education

At least two years of experience working in higher education

Experience advising international students

Experience in program development

Experience with the international admission processes

Experience studying or working abroad

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge about the U.S. higher education system

Knowledge of campus resources

Knowledge of community resources

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to compile information into report form

Ability to work efficiently with extreme attention to detail

Ability to work with and support international students and scholars attending the University of Arkansas
