Flight Lead (Camp Counselor) Job Description:
National Flight Academy (NFA) is seeking individuals to serve in the capacity of ‘camp counselor’ at an aviation-based STEM camp! At the National Flight Academy Flight Leads (camp counselors) serve as mentors to NFA students (6th-12th graders). This position is responsible for supervising groups (squadrons) of 12-14 youth attendees. Flight Leads are primarily responsible for the health and safety of their students.
Flight Leads will lead and supervise their assigned squadron through the daily activities of the program schedule:
- Conducting group team building exercises
- Going to the museum
- Watching the Blue Angels
- Assisting with simulated missions and flight planning
Job Requirements:
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be able to pass a level two background screening
- Must have a valid driver’s license or state issued ID card
- Health Information and Portability Act (HIPAA) certified (provided)
- Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF) Identifying, and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect certified (provided)
- Proficient in basic computer skills
- Must adhere to National Flight Academy’s grooming and uniform standards at all times.
AVIATION, MILITARY, OR STEM BACKGROUNDS ARE NOT REQUIRED
Hours:
AM Flight Leads – 0615-1500 Monday-Friday
PM Flight Leads – 0900-2245 Sunday & 1445-2245 Monday-Thursday
Support Flight Leads – 0800-1500 Sunday and Friday only
