Finance Associate (Part-time)
What You’ll Do
The Roosevelt Institute is seeking a part-time Finance Associate to perform essential administrative functions to support the overall goals of the Finance Department. The position will report to the Senior Finance Manager and is a hybrid role working both remotely and in the NYC office. The position will be paid $31 per hour. This position is a union role and not eligible for health benefits.
What Is the Time Commitment?
The total hours per week will fluctuate between 8 and 16 hours, based on workload and availability. Work is expected to be completed Monday through Friday during regular business hours.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Download, annotate, and combine finance documents
- Organize digital files
- Process new vendors, including verifying vendor information, saving vendor documents, and entering data into the accounting system while ensuring accuracy across multiple databases
- Assist with monthly credit card expense report processing, including creating reports and verifying expenses and totals
- Assist with accounting data entry accurately across multiple databases
- Reconcile donations received against records to ensure accuracy
- Assist with the preparation of monthly budget reports
- Collaborate with team members on special projects, process improvements, and other finance or administrative tasks as needed
What You’ll Have:
- Strong attention to detail
- Organizational skills
- Ability to follow procedures accurately and consistently
- Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Excel and Google Workspace)
- Capacity to perform repetitive tasks quickly and accurately
- Discretion and professionalism when handling confidential documents
- Accounts Payable experience is a plus
- Coursework in accounting or a related field is a plus
