Software Engineer

Podium Automation is an early-stage startup reimagining industrial control panel manufacturing through software-enabled design and automated fabrication. We’re building technology to create a new industrial supply chain and reduce lead times for critical electrical equipment from months to days. We are growing rapidly in NYC and are backed by a16z’s American Dynamism fund, SV Angel, and Banter Capital.

We are seeking a full-time Software Engineer with 0-3 years of experience who is excited to invent new technology in the built world.

What You’ll Do

You will be joining a nimble and growing team (<20 FTEs) as the third software engineer, and as such you will have a pivotal impact on our core technology. You will work directly with the founding software engineer, as well as our team of electrical engineers, to write the software that cuts the electrical design process from weeks down to <24 hours.

Primary areas of focus:

  • Refining and expanding our novel, proprietary data model for industrial devices
  • Extracting device data locked up in user manuals and datasheets
  • Productizing our device database: giving electrical engineers the tools that make the design process faster and more scalable
  • Encoding Podium electrical design principles and patterns into a schematic generator

We are a software-enabled hardware company, so in addition to our core tech you will also take your software chops to other parts of the business that unlock efficiency, such as:

  • Uniting data between systems we own and systems we use, such as ECAD and ERP
  • Integrating with our ECAD software to automate device modeling
  • Managing our on-premise infrastructure - ensure access is both secure and speedy
  • Integrating with the panel build process, such as task flow execution, assembly, and order management

This is a position for someone excited to dive into the world of industrial manufacturing. You will be the software voice in the room, while at the same time coordinating with and learning from industry veterans of electrical design, supply chain, and operations. No prior experience in the manufacturing domain required — just a willingness and enthusiasm to learn!
