Teaching Assistant

POSITION RESPONSIBILITES

As an English Teaching Assistant Intern, you will play a vital role in supporting the English department and contributing to the overall success of our language institute. You will work closely with experienced teachers and the head of studies to deliver high-quality language education and enriching cultural experiences for our students.

Possible Responsibilities:

Classroom Support:Assist in organizing and facilitating English classes, providing support to both teachers and students as needed. This may involve preparing teaching materials, setting up classroom activities, and offering individualized assistance to students.

Teaching Assistance:Under the guidance of experienced teachers, you may have the opportunity to lead certain class sessions, delivering pre-planned lessons and activities. This hands-on experience will allow you to develop your teaching skills and gain valuable classroom experience.

Material Development:Collaborate with teachers and the head of studies to create innovative teaching materials and resources tailored to the needs and interests of our students. This may involve researching educational materials, designing lesson plans, and developing multimedia resources to enhance the learning experience.

Cultural Events Participation:Actively participate in cultural events and activities organized by the institute, including language exchange meetups, cultural workshops, and field trips. This will provide you with opportunities to engage with students from diverse backgrounds and contribute to a vibrant learning community.

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Education, English Language Teaching, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Enthusiasm for language teaching and cultural exchange.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Previous experience in teaching or tutoring is desirable but not essential.

ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
One of the leading companies in Sevilla, located on one of the main streets. We offer Spanish classes to foreign students and English, French, German, Italian and Portuguese classes to Spanish students. We also organize cultural activities and trips for our students.

On-site Supervision and Support
Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance. 

Academic Credit
Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.

Housing and excursions are included in your internship and will be selectable during the application process.
