Job Title: Human Resources Intern

Function:

 

The HR Intern will support a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee engagement, and HR administration. This position offers hands-on experience in a dynamic workplace and an opportunity to learn about HR operations, policies, and best practices.

 

Position Requirements:

GENERAL:

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy, especially when handling sensitive or confidential information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with HRIS or ATS software is a plus.
  • Understanding of HR and labor laws and regulations.
  • Interested in learning about HR practices within the credit union or financial services industry.
  • Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work well in a team.

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Some HR experience preferred, not required 

EDUCATION:  

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted as a satisfactory substitute for the specific education and experience listed above. 

 

Duties:

  • Assist in recruiting activities such as posting job openings, reviewing applications, and scheduling interviews.
  • Support onboarding and orientation for new employees.
  • Assist in company-wide employee relation events and activities.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Help organize employee engagement and recognition initiatives.
  • Provide administrative support for HR programs, training, and compliance documentation.
  • Assist with payroll, benefits, and performance management processes as needed.
  • Participate in special HR projects and initiatives to improve employee experience and efficiency.
  • Uphold company policies and ensure compliance with employment regulations.

Adheres to regulations and organizational policies, maintaining awareness and knowledge required to perform the duties of the position including all aspects of the Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending, and Information Security.
