Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner (UGSC)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Completion of an approved Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program
  • Candidates at all experience levels are invited to apply, including new graduates and those with established experience in women's health
  • National certification
  • Professional clinical experience in a clinic setting is preferred
  • Candidates should have exceptional people and communication skills, be highly skilled in multi-tasking in a fast paced environment, a commitment to achieving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, and a no-task-too-small to approach the work

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Participate directly in the management of patients to the extent authorized by his or her license, certificate, or other legal credentials, and any applicable standardized procedures
  2. Perform a complete physical examination and record findings. Collaborate with physicians in managing medical needs of patients
  3. Review and order laboratory studies, x-rays and other diagnostic and therapeutic procedures with supervising physician as indicated
  4. Review lab and radiology results, in consultation with supervising physician as indicated
  5. Submit patient health care plan and goals of individual patients for review and evaluation by physician
  6. Refer patient to physician or specialist for consultation
  7. Review consultation reports, in consultation with the supervising physician as indicated
  8. Counsel patients and their families on health promotion, diagnosis, prognosis, and management options. Recommend resources to meet patient and family needs.
  9. Instruct patient and authorized family members regarding medications and treatment instructions. Provide patient education.
  10. Maintain medical record in the problem-oriented format as per standard company practice
  11. Triage patient telephone calls and provide consultation
  12. Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits
  13. Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested
  14. Participate in professional development and maintain professional affiliations
  15. Maintain strict patient confidentiality in compliance with Federal and State laws
