Massage Therapy Program Coordinator and Lead Instructor
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
1. Provide classroom, lab, and clinical instruction as assigned.
2. Coordinate program operations, including adjunct faculty teaching schedules and course assignments.
3. Ensure compliance with COMTA and Maryland Board of Massage Therapy Examiners standards.
4. Collaborate with adjunct faculty to develop, review, and update curriculum to meet industry and accreditation requirements.
5. Oversee program documentation, including course syllabi, clinical records, and student progress reports.
6. Support students in preparing for state licensure examinations and provide academic advising as needed.
7. Monitor and maintain program facilities, labs, equipment, and supplies in collaboration with the lab coordinator.
8. Develop and implement assessment tools to evaluate student learning and program effectiveness.
9. Maintain current licensure, BLS, and specialty certifications; participate in continuing education to ensure teaching and clinical expertise.
10. Attend regular meetings with the WSCE Allied Health Program Manager and contribute to program planning and evaluation.
11. Perform administrative duties as assigned by the College.
12. Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Currently licensed or registered to practice massage therapy in Maryland, academically and professionally qualified, maintain expertise appropriate to teaching responsibilities, have an unencumbered license or registration for the past 5 years, and have a minimum of 5 years of clinical experience as a licensed massage therapist or registered massage practitioner. Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Teaching or educational work experience preferred.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and instructional technology.
• Ability to plan, facilitate, and assess instruction in classroom, lab, and clinical settings.
• Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to lead faculty teams and coordinate program operations.
• Skilled in curriculum development and student-centered teaching strategies.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective professional relationships with students, faculty, staff, and external partners.
• Commitment to confidentiality, compliance, and professional standards.
• Must have a valid driver’s license, with a good driving record.
