Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:15 PM, Monday–Friday
Camp Sewataro is hiring enthusiastic Sports Counselors to lead dynamic, developmentally appropriate athletics programming for campers entering 1st–8th grade. This role is ideal for students pursuing education, coaching, kinesiology, recreation, or youth development who want hands-on experience teaching skills, motivating young athletes, and fostering a supportive, spirited community.
As part of our program structure, Sports Counselors work within the Sport Speciality Areas assigned and partner closely with Group Counselors to deliver safe, engaging instruction that prioritizes fun, teamwork, confidence-building, and inclusive play.
We hire Lead Instructors in:
- Soccer/Flag Football
- Basketball/Street Hockey
- Whiffleball/Kickball
- Tennis/Golf
- Archery
- Field Games & Team-Building Activities
(We focus on fundamentals, positive coaching, and adapting activities for different age groups.)
What You’ll Do:
Teach and supervise daily sports sessions for multiple age groups
Model positive sportsmanship and encourage skill development at all levels
Create a welcoming environment for athletes of all abilities
Maintain equipment and help ensure safe play
Collaborate with fellow specialty staff and Group Counselors to support camper needs
Contribute to the high-energy, community-centered spirit that defines Sewataro
What We’re Looking For:
Experience playing, coaching, or assisting with youth sports
A genuine interest in working with children and pre-teens
Strong communication and leadership skills
Ability to adapt, stay active throughout the day, and bring positivity to every session
Commitment to inclusive, character-focused athletics
