The Manteno facility plays a key role in supporting Gotion’s U.S. battery production and assembly operations.
Position Overview:
The Entry-Level Quality Engineer supports the implementation, monitoring, and improvement of quality systems and processes within Gotion’s manufacturing operations. This role ensures that all products meet quality standards and customer requirements while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities:
Support day-to-day quality operations and ensure compliance with internal and customer quality standards.
Conduct inspections, audits, and data analysis to identify process deviations or nonconformities.
Collaborate with production, engineering, and supplier teams to resolve quality issues.
Assist in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) implementation.
Maintain and update quality documentation, including inspection reports, control plans, and PFMEAs.
Participate in new product introductions (NPI) by supporting quality control plan development.
Monitor and report key quality metrics such as defect rates, first pass yield, and scrap levels.
Promote continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles throughout production.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Ability to interpret basic engineering drawings and specifications.
Understanding of fundamental quality tools and concepts (e.g., 8D, FMEA, SPC, Root Cause Analysis).
Team-oriented, self-motivated, and eager to learn in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing or quality environment.
Exposure to ISO 9001 or IATF 16949 quality systems.
Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC) and measurement system analysis (MSA).
Experience with battery manufacturing, automotive, or electronics industries is a plus.
