Therapeutic Day Treatment Counselor TDT

Therapeutic Day Treatment (TDT) Counselor – Part-Time
School-Based | Loudoun County Public Schools

If you love working with kids and want to make a real difference in their school day, this is a great place to start. Tree of Life Family Services is looking for motivated, patient, and compassionate individuals to join our TDT team here in Loudoun County. This role lets you step into the school environment, support students who need emotional and behavioral guidance, and collaborate closely with teachers, school social workers, and families.

We welcome applicants who want part-time work during the school day. Everyone will start part-time, and full-time opportunities may open as our program grows.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Helping students learn coping skills, regulate emotions, and feel supported throughout their school day
• Working one-on-one or in small groups with students who need behavioral and emotional support
• Communicating with teachers and school social workers to stay aligned on student needs
• Collaborating with families to make sure students have support at home and at school
• Stepping in during tough moments and helping students calm down and feel safe
• Keeping clear and timely documentation of daily services
• Staying active in training and supervision to grow your skills

What We’re Looking For
• Eligible or registered as a QMHP or QMHP- trainee in Virginia
• Someone who feels comfortable working directly with children
• Someone who can communicate well with teachers, school staff, and families
• A calm, organized, dependable person who works well under pressure
• Someone who keeps healthy boundaries and builds trust easily
• Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive to any Loudoun County Public School
• Must be able to work during school hours: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m., Monday–Friday

Schedule
This position takes place completely inside the schools. All services happen during school hours. Part-time schedules fall between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, and follow the LCPS academic calendar.
