Printed Circuit Board Engineer

SUMMARY:

As part of the Welding Technology Corp. Engineering Team, the successful candidate will be working closely with PCB Engineers and will be working on PCBs that control and support our inverter technology.  Through this combined effort you will develop new technologies that deliver increased capabilities and bring value-add to WTC and its customers.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Being involved in re-designing the electronic stack for the WTC's industrial automotive PCB systems
  • Sourcing components and working closely with purchasing to get quotes from vendors
  • Navigating PCB files and able to go into the board and answer any basic questions about that board
  • Working on test fixtures to functionally test the PCBs

COMPETENCIES/REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Proven experience with PCBs in either an academic project setting or commercial setting.
  • You have designed, printed and tested a PCB and it exists or has existed 
  • Comfortable with Altium, signal generation and analysis tools.
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills 
  • Able to work in collaboration with the other engineers

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering is required and project experience with PCBs.
  • Must have at least 1 years’ experience. Will consider hands-on experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree.
  • Ideally 2+ years’ experience working in electronics product development and/or electronics manufacture, with strong working knowledge of the electronics supply chain, components, assembly materials and process technologies.
