NIH Language Interpreter Intern Spring 2026
The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) National Internship
Program (HNIP), in partnership with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) is
currently seeking students to fill the following paid internship position:
Native Spanish speaker with a 100% English fluency. Formal bilingual education preferably with medical interpretation or translation training. Aptitude to work with diverse ethnicities, excellent communication and customer service skills. Interest in medicine, science or medical research career. Able to bridge cultural and linguistic gap between hospital staff and patients with Limited English Proficiency. Opportunity to learn on the job as learning materials are provided to learn more about terminology.
40/week 8-4:30pm M-F
DESIRED MAJORS: Language Interpretation and Translation Spanish/English Emphasis
Medicine (MD), Public Health MPH, DPH
The HACU National Internship Program (HNIP) assists students in coordinating housing
in Washington D.C. through an intern housing program. HNIP covers upfront costs and
