Graduate Assistant
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
We are looking for graduate students with interests and knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and working with people with ASD.
- Graduate students will be responsible for assisting the program with daily workflow as well as:
- Working directly with students to develop strategies/plans to meet their goals in the areas of: Executive Functioning, Self-Advocacy, Social Interactions, Independence, and Employment/Career Preparation.
- Assist with Planning and running group sessions
- Assisting with resource materials for students
- Data Collection and Report generation
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Full-time or part-time Graduate Students at West Chester University.
- Must have knowledge and/or experience in the following:
- Autism
- West Chester University’s Resources
- Must commit to 10-20 hours of work and two Saturdays a semester; D-CAP hours are 9-6:30
- Ability to work on own as well as part of team.
- Must be willing to learn more about ASD and effective teaching strategies
- Must be model students for appropriate social interactions (socially comfortable to lead, interact, and engage with others).
