Who we are: New York Behavior Analysis & Psychological Services is a boutique style child psychological services provider that provides the highest quality assessment and treatment for children and adolescents with developmental disabilities in the New York City metropolitan area. It prides itself on individualized owner input on each and every child to which we provide services.

What we need: We are looking for caring individuals in all five boroughs of New York City as well as the surrounding suburbs who want to make a daily positive impact on children's lives and gain skills and experience working with children with disabilities, a rapidly growing field with career opportunities.

What you will do: The therapist will work closely with children and their parents in the child’s home and/or school to promote essential skills for future success by implementing individualized behavior reduction and skill acquisition treatment plans developed by a Licensed Behavior Analyst (BCBA), analyzing progress and reporting results. You will be an integral part of carrying out the child's treatment plan and supervision, support and mentoring is provided by the Licensed Behavior Analyst responsible for developing the child's individualized treatment plan.

Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, have experience working with children, be comfortable interacting with culturally and linguistically diverse families, be punctual and reliable, and be able to pass a stringent background check, Tuberculosis test and drug testing. This is a part time position, and you must be available a minimum of 4 days per week, even if only for 3-4 hours per day. For this position, you must be available during weekday afternoons (usually 3:00-7:00pm) and preferably one weekend morning. Preference will be given to those with prior experience working with children with developmental disabilities, those that have a bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, Special Education, or a closely related field, those who possess BCaBA certification, and those with an established interest in pursuing graduate degrees in a closely related field.

Compensation: This is a part time position with a starting salary of $24 per hour. Salary is negotiable for those meeting the above noted preferences and there is the opportunity to transition to full time for those that establish themselves as valuable assets to their assigned children. You will also be paid for expected transportation time at the beginning and end of your day in excess of 40 minutes on public transportation as established on Google Maps. Reimbursement for public transportation and paid sick leave is also provided. Coursework to obtain your certification as a “Registered Behavior Technician” and BCBA Supervision hours for those in pursuit of their certification is also offered.
