Aquatics Lifeguard

Responsibilities

Supervise all pool activities and maintain vigilant observation of swimmers.

Enforce pool rules and safe practices to prevent accidents.

Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies, performing water rescues and administering CPR/First Aid when required.

Conduct routine inspections of the pool deck and surrounding areas, reporting any safety or maintenance concerns.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of guard stands and pool-area equipment.

Provide friendly, professional customer service and represent YMCA values in every interaction.

Qualifications

Minimum age: 16 years.

Valid Lifeguard Certification required. CPR, AED, and First Aid preferred.

Strong swimming ability and ability to remain alert for extended periods.

Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.

Reliable, responsible, and committed to maintaining a safe environment for all.

Certification courses are available through the YMCA if not yet certified.
