Assistant Center Director

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

About Us:
Stemtree focuses on science and engineering education, aligning with today’s emphasis on STEM learning. We nurture children’s curiosity through fun, hands-on programs that build core science skills for the classroom and beyond.

We are seeking an Assistant Center Director who is passionate about education, enjoys working with children, and is motivated to help manage and grow a small business.

Schedule:

  • During School Year: Monday–Friday, approx 2:30 pm–6:00 pm
  • During School Breaks/Camps: Monday–Friday, 8:30 am–6:00 pm (full days, approx. 45 hrs/week, with overtime pay after 40 hrs/week)
  • This is a long term role through September 30, 2026, with an option to extend the following year. Availability during Winter, Spring and Summer camps is required.

Compensation & Perks:

  • Base Salary: Paid in bi-monthly installments
  • Overtime Pay: For camp weeks (>40 hrs/week) at 1.5× hourly rate
  • Retention Bonus: 2–5% of salary payable in Sept 2026 upon completion of term
  • Commission - on meeting quarterly targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Must have a computer science background to teach Science, Math, Coding, Robotics and EE at Elementary level. Manage the center during instructional hours and to be able to substitute for staff as needed; uphold Stemtree standards and procedures
  • Support hiring, training, scheduling, and management of instructors, and understand courses to be able to take classes if needed to fill in for the instructor.
  • Grow student enrollment and build relationships with schools, parents, and community groups
  • Ensure instructors deliver lessons using the Stemtree method
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Center Owner
  • Oversee daily operations including opening/closing, student check-in/out, and supply management
  • Participate in marketing and outreach events

Qualifications:

  • Background check required.
  • Passion for working with children and enthusiasm for science education
  • At least 2 year of experience in teaching, leadership, education or related roles
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage, train, and support instructors
  • Highly organized and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
