Job Description: 

This internship is designed to be an 11-week full-time opportunity beginning June 2025 and concluding August 2025. The program is ideal for rising senior undergraduates seeking experience and exposure to diverse careers in healthcare. Youll work specifically with our Strategy & Corporate Development Team which is responsible for business consulting, strategic planning, inorganic growth, and analytics.

              Competitive Intelligence 

  • Support areas of the organization with strategically relevant competitive and market insights collected from a wide variety of secondary research from publicly available and internal sources.  

Responsibilities for this internship are including, but not limited to the following: 

  • Upload content to the CareFirst Intelligence Desk (CID), a website that includes daily market and competitor news, internally and externally produced reports and analyses, and competitor field intelligence; includes reading and summarizing news publications and reports for publication on the site. 
  • Assist with ad hoc research requests including conducting secondary research, summarizing research findings and key insights, and preparing final reports/presentations. 
  • Proofread and edit reports prior to distribution. 

Education Level: 

  • Undergraduate Track: Sophomore or Junior with a minimum 3.5 GPA, pursuing a Bachelors degree in Economics, Finance or Business Administration degree at an accredited college or university during the internship. 

Required Abilities/Skills: 

  • Aptitude to synthesize and create a cohesive picture from a wide variety of information types and sources. 
  • Independent thinker and self-starter who can also work as part of a team. 
  • Strong research skills - ability to search internet and have a desire/interest in healthcare.
  • Project management experience or education preferred. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to positively interface with and establish and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Strategic and creative decision maker who can motivate self without constant supervision. 
  • Attention to detail and excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including assisting with presentations and proposals. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to set priorities. 
  • Demonstrated skills with various computer applications/software, particularly those related to database management and the development of presentations. 

Salary Range: $18,720 - $26,000
