Marketing Intern

W. M. Jordan Company is seeking a full-time summer marketing intern in our Richmond, VA location. Interns will complete an OSHA Ten-Hour Safety course, receive CPR and First Aid certification, and participate in Learning & Development and Wellness activities.

As a Summer Marketing Intern, you’ll be immersed in the dynamic world of A/E/C marketing. You’ll support the marketing team in crafting high-impact proposals, coordinating events, and producing branded materials that reflect our company’s values and capabilities. This internship offers exposure to both the creative and strategic sides of marketing, with opportunities to collaborate across departments and contribute to real-world projects.

What You’ll Learn

  • Business Development & Pursuit Strategy: Gain insight into how we pursue new opportunities—from RFQs to final proposals—and understand how cost, scope, and strategic fit influence client decisions.
  • Project Delivery Methods: Learn how different construction delivery models shape our approach to marketing and client engagement.
  • Proposal & Design Tools: Get hands-on experience with Adobe InDesign for proposal creation.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and refining marketing content including brochures, resumes, flyers, and presentations.
  • Learn the basics of CRM systems and help maintain pursuit-related data.
  • Contribute to social media strategy and content creation to promote company culture and brand visibility.
  • Assist with our online store and promotional item selection.
  • Participate in career fair and conference prep, including booth setup and digital presentations.

Requirements

  • Current student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited university within marketing, graphic design or creative writing is strongly preferred
  • Strong writing, grammar, proofreading, and editing skills with attention to detail
  • Self-starter who can work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to learn project-specific software systems
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Positive attitude and ability to follow direction
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
