Spring 2026 Internship (Multiple Positions)

Coptic Solidarity seeks interested candidates to apply for our three internships. We seek to mentor and train individuals who will become leaders of the next generation in Coptic advocacy. We believe it is important to incorporate the innovation and ideas of the next generation in our efforts.

We will work with Universities to ensure students desiring course credit can attain it. Coptic Solidarity will also provide reference letters to interns who have performed their duties to a satisfactory level.

We are now accepting three interns for the Spring 2026 Internship Program. This is an opportunity for students and recent graduates to engage in career development and a chance to learn new skills as they contribute to CS’s mission.

  • Fundraising and Operations Intern
  • Policy and Advocacy Intern
  • Data Analysis Intern

This remote internship lasts about 12-15 weeksstarting on January 12, 2025.  Interns are expected to commit 10-15 hours per week and work directly with CS staff and board members. Selected applicants will work as a team to execute a substantive capstone project that tackles a timely policy and even share it with federal and international policymakers!

Position Descriptions

Fundraising and Operations Intern

Responsibilities

  1. Develop creative campaigns to help promote Coptic equality and manage content calendars;
  2. Identify prospective individual, foundation, and corporate donors. Develop strategies for new donor relations;
  3. Support the DDA with outreach campaigns to congressional staff, international organizations, and non-governmental organizations;
  4. Write grant applications and manage fundraising campaigns;
  5. Assist with scheduling, correspondence, and other operational tasks.

Qualifications

  1. Undergraduate, graduate, or recently graduated student with coursework in political science, public policy, international relations, sociology, journalism, marketing, or another relevant field (high school students accepted on a case-by-case basis);
  2. Demonstrated knowledge or interest in Middle East affairs– particularly Egypt's– foreign policy, and nonprofit advocacy is highly preferred;
  3. Previous experience with non-governmental organizational operations and/or fundraising is preferred, but not required;
  4. Strong understanding of various social media platforms and their functionalities. Creative thinking and the ability to generate engaging content;
  5. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Basic graphic design skills or proficiency with design tools, including Canva.

 

Policy and Advocacy Intern

Responsibilities

  1. Track federal bills, State Department publications, and USCIRF reports relevant to the Middle East and North Africa (MENA);
  2. Produce policy briefs and visually appealing fact sheets for staff and coalition partners;
  3. Support the DDA with outreach to UN member-state representatives and international organizations;
  4. Participate in coalition activities, including representing CS in coalition and partner meetings and workshops;
  5. Assist with other miscellaneous and operational tasks;

Qualifications

  1. Undergraduate, graduate, or recently graduated student with coursework in political science, public policy, international relations, sociology, or another relevant field (high school students accepted on a case-by-case basis);
  2. Demonstrated knowledge or interest in minority rights, indigenous rights, or human rights in general, preferably with a focus on the MENA region;
  3. Demonstrated ​​research experience with US policy as well as UN procedures and international humanitarian law. This position covers both national and international policy work;
  4. Familiarity with the policymaking process at the UN and/or on the Hill (e.g., previous relevant internship, Model UN…etc, experience is a plus);
  5. Excellent oral and written cross-cultural communication skills; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.

 

Data Analysis Intern

Responsibilities

  1. Monitor human rights watchdog organizations and media for Egypt and MENA-relevant agenda items, publications, and procedures;
  2. Collect, filter, and clean data to disclose trends of discrimination and violence against Copts, as well as other patterns;
  3. Support the research team in mapping the geographic distribution of the Coptic American community;
  4. Support with the organization’s technical and data-oriented tasks;
  5. Assist with other miscellaneous and operational tasks.

Qualifications

  1. Undergraduate, graduate, or recently graduated student with a demonstrated focus in both (1) data science and (2) international relations, public policy, or another relevant field;
  2. Strong familiarity with quantitative policy and political analysis methods (R, Stata, or Excel pivot tables) and web development tools;
  3. Excellent oral and written cross-cultural communication skills; proficiency in Arabic is highly preferred;
  4. Ability to synthesize the Organization’s quantitative findings into accessible advocacy materials;
  5. Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Middle East and indigenous rights is a plus.
