Job Title: Public Policy Analyst 

 

Job Description: The Rhode Island Public Expenditure Council (RIPEC) is seeking a full-time public policy analyst who is committed to using critical analysis to advance policy solutions. Duties and responsibilities include but may not be limited to: 

  • Conducting in-depth qualitative and quantitative public policy research independently and as part of a team
  • Developing, writing, and editing large-scale research reports, policy briefs, legislative testimony, and other materials
  • Producing data graphics and visualizations
  • Evaluating and analyzing the impact of proposed government policies, including through monitoring legislation and attending legislative hearings

 

Qualified candidates will possess the following:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field, graduate degree preferred
  • Public administration, research, data analysis, policy development, or other related work experience
  • Demonstrated experience conducting public policy research
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well independently and in collaboration with others
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Tableau preferred

 

Compensation and Benefits: Salary range: $50,000-$60,000 depending on experience. Matching 403(b) retirement plan and fully paid individual medical and dental coverage. Hybrid/partially remote work model.
