Legal Secretary

LEGAL SECRETARY 

Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff
- Prepare and proofread legal documents, including contracts, briefs, motions, orders,
petitions and pleadings
- Transcribe dictations and prepare correspondence
- Manage document management systems and maintain organized files
- Assist with scheduling appointments, meetings, and court hearings
- Answer phone calls and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel
- Perform data entry and update client information in the database

Requirements:
- Proven experience as a legal secretary or in a similar administrative role
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
- Proficient in using document management systems, MS Word, Dictaphone
- Excellent proofreading and transcription skills
- Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with court filing requirements and court-filing computer systems
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work under tight deadlines
