Under the general direction of the Environmental Program Manager II, the Environmental Program Manager I (Supervisory) is responsible for overseeing and implementing the Responsible Textile Recovery Act of 2024 and other Department extended producer responsibility (EPR) enforcement programs. The Environmental Program Manager I (Supervisory) oversees Senior Environmental Scientists (Supervisory) to ensure that staff applies principles of scientific research, biological and environmental sciences and integrated waste management, and knowledge of environmental characteristics as they relate to the programs overseen. Reviews and evaluates program performance and achievements, asseses technical documents and monitoring records. The Section Manager oversees the evaluation of environmental monitoring data and ensures sound conclusions have been made regarding compliance with standards. In addition, the incumbent is responsible for the formulation, development and administration of State policy and programs and will maintain effective multi-disciplinary relationships in the accomplishment of the Department’s program goals and objectives. Additional duties include enforcement of statutes and regulations related to extended producer responsibility, drafting regulations, and testifying at hearings.
