AI Engineering Intern
We're looking for a motivated AI engineering intern to join our team and build the future of insurance. You'll be working alongside our engineering team on building AI agents and models, helping solve messy, high-impact problems. We'll sponsor your visa and you'll build with us in San Francisco at the heart of startups, deeply serving our customers and challenging one of the biggest industries in the world – insurance.
Your Day to Day at Truvo
- Learning & Building: Working alongside our insurance and engineering teams to build AI agents that automate workflows and models that understand insurance carrier appetite
- API Integration: Building API integrations into insurance carriers and other complex systems
- Shipping Code: Contributing to production code from day one, learning to move quickly while taking ownership of your work
- Building the future of insurance: You'll be working on truly meaningful and impactful problems, with high levels of autonomy and responsibility
Requirements
- Problem Solver: You're excited about working on messy, high-impact problems and learning how to tackle complex challenges
- Builder & Learner: Eager to take ideas from zero to one quickly. You thrive in ambiguity, figure things out, and want to ship real code
- Applied AI Interest: Strong interest or hands-on experience with LLMs and agents. Experience building, fine-tuning, or deploying them (even in side projects)
- Systems Thinker: Comfortable learning about integrations, APIs, and workflow automation. Insurance runs on legacy rails — you'll help us rewire them
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Programming experience in Python or JavaScript
- Nice to Have: Exposure to fintech/insurtech, RAG, semantic search, voice AI, or workflow automation
