Full-Time Patient Coordinator

Full-Time Patient Coordinator-Full-time - 32-40 hours per week, $25 per hour + health benefits - starting date January 7, 2026, New York, NY - 2 year commitment preferred

A leading practitioner of Integrative Medicine, Dr. Woodson Merrell seeks an energetic, high-performing STEM student/graduate with a strong interest in a medical career to fill the position of Patient Coordinator. In this role you will be the primary patient liaison running our medical office front desk, which includes telephone triage, patient scheduling, patient arrival and departure, tracking patient charts and test results, communicating clinical information and receiving patient payments among other tasks. You will provide administrative support to Dr. Merrell and his clinical coordinator, and contribute to an environment of clinical excellence for the private practice of one of the nation's leading practitioners of Integrative Medicine, which includes utilizing nutritional medicine, mind-body therapies and acupuncture in addition to practicing conventional medicine.

As the Patient Coordinator for Dr. Merrell, you will support day-to-day administrative operations for an exciting concierge-based private medical practice with a loyal patient following, ensuring the highest level of customer service, patient confidentiality and practice support.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Patient communications and liaison.
  • Triage patient calls.
  • Schedule patient visits.
  • Coordinate care logistics with Dr. Merrell.
  • Greet and check-in patients at time of appointment.
  • Check-out patients and take payment.
  • Provide clerical assistance to Clinical Coordinator, including clerical support for lab requisitions, insurance approvals, billing, chart maintenance, patient communications, fee collections and electronic medical records management.
  • Special projects that include updating the practice demographic database and scanning documents and charts.

Minimum Qualifications

  • At least three years completed of undergraduate college.
  • Transcript must demonstrate competency in STEM courses.
  • Strong verbal communications skills.
  • Strong command of spelling, syntax and grammar.
  • High computer literacy.
  • Efficient and accurate keyboarding skills required.
  • Aptitude for excellent name recall.
