The Corporate Treasury Internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in funding, liquidity, and capital management, within a global banking organization. Interns will rotate across one or more of Treasury’s core functions:
- Capital Markets Treasury – Support unsecured funding strategy, cash management, and Medium‑Term Note issuance activities in our capital markets entities.
- Bank Treasury – Help manage commercial paper and certificates of deposit, repo transactions, daily liquidity, and interest rate risk in our bank entities.
- Liquidity Management – Contribute to internal liquidity stress testing, and liquidity projections and analysis.
- Balance Sheet Strategy – Help to conduct capital planning, capital stress testing, and financial resource optimization.
- Treasury COO – Manage financial models, and create dashboards to support the broader Treasury team

About the Team
Corporate Treasury at Mizuho Americas is a high‑impact, cross‑enterprise function that steers the firm’s funding, liquidity, and capital across our bank and capital markets entities. We are:
- Market‑connected and risk‑aware: We partner closely with trading desks, Finance/Controllers, Risk, Regulatory Reporting, and Operations to translate market conditions and regulatory developments into actionable funding and liquidity plans.
- Data‑driven: Our work relies on robust analytics—cash flow forecasting, stress testing, and performance metrics that inform senior decision‑making.
- Collaborative: You’ll work with colleagues across Treasury disciplines and cross‑functional stakeholders (e.g., Finance, Risk, Tax, Legal) on projects that have firm‑wide visibility.
- Execution‑oriented: From daily cash positioning to strategic initiatives (FTP enhancements, balance sheet optimization), we focus on outcomes that support growth, resiliency, and client experience.
Key Responsibilities (Depending on Rotation)
- Assist in daily liquidity monitoring, cash positioning, and short‑term funding workflows.
- Support analysis of funding plans, capital allocation, and balance sheet usage across entities.
- Prepare liquidity buffer metrics, and related management reporting.
- Contribute to regulatory and management reporting.
- Build materials for committees and senior briefings; summarize trends and propose insights.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners (Finance/Controllers, Risk, Operations) to improve data, controls, and processes.
- Support model validation processes for new/existing financial instruments
- Create dashboards with Python or other programming tools to support Treasury

Qualifications
- Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, data/analytics, or related fields (graduation date winter 2026–spring 2027 preferred).
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (Bloomberg and Python are a plus)
- Curiosity about financial markets, liquidity/funding, and bank regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work well in teams and with deadlines.
Salary: $35/hour
