Groups Residential Mentor Job Description 

Community Developer by relationship building and building community with students in a common floor area. 

Peer Educator through helping skills, critical thinking skills and designing and executing plans for students.  

Community manager through conflict mediation, problem solving and crisis response as needed.  

Administrator through report writing, prioritizing time management skills and resiliency for the position.  

Critical details: 

Must be available in the evenings and weekends throughout summer 2026.  

Must live in Ball Hall for the entire summer.  

Must be available May 25 -Aug 1, summer 2026.  

Must be enrolled as an Indiana University student. (any campus) 

 

Groups Scholars Program Residential Mentor Position 

The Groups Scholars Program is looking for Groups Residential Mentors for its second summer experience. The Groups Scholars Program is a program that largely assists first-generation; low-income students succeed in college. There is a required seven-week summer bridge program that includes a full schedule of classes and activities for students. That is where we need your help; we need to hire 12-15 Residential Mentors to help students. These student peer-mentors will get to engage with our first class of Groups students at Indiana University Indianapolis. It will include programming, duty response, crisis management, and fully engaging with our newest Scholars on campus! This position is live-on, with a meal plan, and has an hourly wage of $15.50 per hour. See below for more information about this new position for our campus.
