Assistant City Attorney I - Transactional Law
Job Specifications
The City of Tallahassee’s City Attorney’s Office is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented attorney to join our team. In this role, you’ll work closely with our transactional practice group and experienced attorneys to provide high-quality legal services that support our mission and operations.
What You’ll Do
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and real estate documents.
- Provide sound legal advice and guidance to internal departments.
- Research complex legal issues and prepare resolutions, memoranda, and briefs.
- Review purchase and sale agreements, mortgages, liens, and easements.

Work Schedule & Benefits:
This position is OPS part-time (30 hours per week) and eligible for limited benefits, including health insurance and participation in the City’s 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan.
Minimum Training & Experience:
Graduation from an accredited college of law.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Membership in the Florida Bar at the time of application.
Driver's License Requirements
Must possess a valid Class-E State driver's license at the time of appointment.
Additional Information
This position is eligible for remote work with a work schedule of up to 30 hours per week. Occasional in-person meetings may be required.
