Computing and Network Support Technician
The Computing / Network Support Technician shall be responsible for supporting personal computers, configuring network/phone connections, VLAN’s and general computing support.
The duties shall include but not be limited to the following:
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for timely day-to-day support, management, monitoring, troubleshooting, security and support of workstation systems and network environments, including hardware and software.
- To ensure optimal workstation performance will install, diagnose, repair, maintain, and upgrade all PC hardware and peripherals.
- Installs, configures and upgrades operating systems and software, using standard business and administrative packages.
- Installs, assembles and configures computers, monitors, network infrastructure and peripherals such as printers, scanners and related hardware; pulls cables (CAT3, CAT5, CAT6 and Fiber) and rewires as required for new installations and office reconfiguration.
- Manages system backups, restores and assists in Disaster Recovery planning
- Troubleshoots problems with computer systems, including troubleshooting hardware and software, e-mail, network and peripheral equipment problems; makes repairs and corrections where required.
- Acts as a technical resource in assisting users to resolve problems with equipment and data.
- Assist with support of Microsoft Office products, printers, CAD software, configuring storage drives securely, and other software support as assigned.
- Keep technology knowledge up to date by participating in IT training or other assigned activities.
