Position Summary
As a Central Sterile Technician, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of:
Decontaminating, assembling, sterilizing, and distributing surgical instruments
Managing surgical case carts and ensuring all needed disposables are prepared
Following infection control and sterilization standards to support safe patient care
Collaborating with the surgical and nursing teams to maintain an efficient workflow
You’ll gain hands-on experience with a variety of sterilization methods, instrument tracking systems, and surgical equipment—all while contributing to Bronson’s mission of delivering exceptional healthcare with compassion and integrity.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or GED
Successful completion of orientation and department competencies within 90 days of hire
Ability to read, interpret, and follow written procedures, schedules, and IFUs
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Basic computer proficiency and comfort with instrument-tracking programs
Manual dexterity, color differentiation, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred:
Completion of a Central Services Technology Program
Six months of experience in a Sterile Processing/Central Services environment
Working knowledge of surgical instrumentation, aseptic technique, microbiology, and infection control
Core Competencies
Demonstrated ability to handle and process contaminated medical instrumentation
Skilled in inspection, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments
Strong organizational and time-management abilities
Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient work environment
Excellent customer service and teamwork skills
Adherence to hospital, Joint Commission, and regulatory standards
