Reports to: Editor-in-Chief
Description: Responsible for assigning and editing sports stories of the assistant editor and writer of the section. Manages all aspects of the section’s desk and writes multiple articles per week.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Attend events, interview sources, take photos and write 2+ articles/week
- Assign and edit stories of assistant editor and staff writer
- Write a staff column in the regular rotation
- Communicates with section and EIC daily via section check-ins
- Attend weekly budget, critique and editorial meeting(s)
- Meet deadlines assigned by Editor-in-Chief
- Be familiar with AP style and article format
This position is 15 hours/week and paid $12.48/hour.
