Design Intern

As a Design Intern, you will support the design team in multiple phases of creative work, helping translate brand vision into real visual and material form. Based on your skills, interests, goals and work ethic your internship responsibilities could include:

• Assist in developing visual concepts for product, surfaces, limited edition items, or spatial installations.
• Generate sketches, renderings, mood boards, and prototypes that explore form, materiality, texture, color.
• Support art direction and visual identity projects: work on look & feel, typography, graphic layouts.
• Prepare assets for digital presentation & marketing: social media posts, web & digital communication visuals.
• Collaborate in research on materials, trends, production techniques, and sustainable approaches.
• Assist with documentation: maintaining style guides, organizing project files, preparing presentations.
• Participate in internal critiques & feedback sessions.

About the Organization:
Our studio focuses on design in a wide range of industrial and crafts contexts, concentrating on questions of function combined with typological innovation. We have worked for many companies, often mixing his activity as a designer with the role of creative director, creating perfectly synchronized systems of communication and production.

On-site Supervision and Support
Our internships include 24/7 on-site staff to support students working and living abroad. All students will also report to a supervisor at their internship site. Supervisors provide and oversee daily tasks, introduce the intern to team members, and mentor the intern in organizational agility, skill acquisition, and career readiness. Interns complete a midpoint and final evaluation, and supervisors complete a final evaluation of their interns. All work responsibilities and projects are approved in advance. 

Academic Credit
Students on an internship have the opportunity to enroll in their home university for credit, or enroll in a course through API to transfer back to their university for credit. Email support-internships@apiexperience.com for more information and a syllabus.

Housing and excursions are included in your internship and will be selectable during the application process.
