Junior Mechanical Engineer

We’re seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join our Lift Chair Division. This entry-level position supports the design, prototyping, and testing of new mechanical assemblies and components. You’ll work hands-on with CAD, prototype builds, and testing equipment while learning from experienced engineers. The role occasionally supports projects in our Mobility Department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and update 3D CAD models and drawings using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor
  • Assist with prototype builds using FDM 3D printing, woodworking, and basic fabrication tools
  • Perform first-article inspections, take measurements, and document verification data
  • Communicate with suppliers and machine shops to source prototype and production parts
  • Help improve existing products and maintain revision documentation
  • Support testing and simple programming tasks with Arduino or Raspberry Pi
  • Work alongside production to develop tools, fixtures, and gauges

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)
  • 0–2 years of engineering experience — ideal for recent grads or interns ready for full-time work
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving mindset
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working with both CAD and hands-on builds

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with NetSuite ERP
  • Exposure to Arduino or Raspberry Pi
  • Experience using calipers, micrometers, or height gauges

Work Environment
Combination of office and shop-floor settings with hands-on prototype and testing work. Occasional supplier visits may be required.
