JOB DESCRIPTION


 

TITLE: District Technology Assistant

REPORTS TO: Help Desk Manager


 

JOB GOALS:

Support and maintain district technology and software to provide an ideal educational environment. 


 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate IT degree or equivalent combination of technical education and experience
  • IT help desk preferred
  • Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office 365, and iCloud applications
  • Experience with Apple and Microsoft operating systems
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of computer hardware repair and software configuration
  • Ability to install software on a multi-platform environment
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize workflow
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills


 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • HelpDesk Level 1 Support
    • Responsible for timely resolution of Helpdesk tickets
    • Maintain Helpdesk documentation
    • Escalate unresolved issues as appropriate
       
  • Support district 1:1 initiative and implementation
    • Assist with student device collection/distribution
    • Diagnose, clean and prepare devices for student use
    • Support the daily repair request of student devices
    • Maintain accurate student device inventory
  • Maintain district equipment inventory
  • Provide technical support to end-users according to the priorities set by the Help Desk Manager
  • Facilitate communication between the end-user and the Technology Department
  • Support district and classroom technology
  • Image student and staff devices when necessary
  • Support various cloud services including account set-up for the district (Office 365, Google Apps, Apple iCloud)
  • Assist with district printer functionality, including maintenance and management software
  • Contribute to project plans and support implementation
  • Assist in maintaining organized and efficient work areas and procedures which support the responsibilities of the technology department
  • Responsible for technology set-up of district events
  • Support district staff with account login and computer access issues as appropriate to their role
  • Perform technology onboarding support as needed (i.e. Administrative Assistants, Paraeducators and Teachers). This includes:
    • Initial Sign-on
    • Introduction to SIS
    • Employee Portal/Fund Accounting
    • Other district supported software
  • Assist or lead student and staff training when assigned by Help Desk Manager
  • Contribute to software account creation as assigned by Technology Managers
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Technology Managers



TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: (12 months)

Salary, work schedule and other conditions of employment are to be in accordance with the  South Fayette School District salary schedule and applicable policies. 

EVALUATION: 

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the applicable policies of the South Fayette School District.
