(UPI) Director of Photography
The UAC Production Internship (UPI) supports UAC events with quality video production. UPI is a collaboration between the FMA and Communication Departments. We seek a candidate who enjoys doing challenging work and collaborating with a community of professionals. This a great chance to visit new places, get experience and learn new skills on the job.
JOB: Director of Photography (Experiential Learning Scholarship)
- Attends Weekly and Bi-Weekly leadership meetings
- Writes and Submits Weekly Reports to UPI's Associate Producer
- Leads UPI’s Camera Team (including Sound and Lighting)
- Gives camera assignments and instruction/feedback regarding camera angle, composition and settings
- Leads UPI workshops to teach new production equipment
Personal and/or Delegated Responsibilities
- Visits locations to assess and plan for UPI shoots
- Reserves and returns UAC film equipment for designated projects.
- Shoots video at UPI-supported UAC events.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Be an enrolled University of Utah Asia Campus student (for Fall 2025)
- Be an FMA or Communication Major
- Have intermediate to advanced knowledge of digital video production and operation of digital cameras
- Be willing to collaborate with multiple production teams to achieve good harmony.
- Be willing to learn new equipment and pass knowledge to new members.
- Be willing to follow FMA and Communication Equipment Room policies
- Have completed or be currently enrolled in FILM 2500 or COMM 3560
