Hughes & Company is actively recruiting for its 2026 Summer Private Equity Analyst program. Summer Analysts will join our investment team for a 10-week summer internship, offering a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of private equity with direct exposure to deal sourcing, evaluation, execution, and portfolio operations.

Position Overview
As a Summer Analyst, you will work closely with senior investment professionals and be treated as an integral member of the team. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, landscaping and sourcing investment opportunities, researching and developing investment theses, evaluating potential investment opportunities, and helping with portfolio company initiatives.
Summer Analysts should embody curiosity and demonstrate a desire for continuous growth. This program is perfect for individuals who are passionate about the U.S. healthcare system and eager to explore solutions that improve it. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint and possess the communication skills necessary to build trust with internal teams and senior executives. We are seeking dedicated individuals who are eager to take on daily challenges and demonstrate their commitment to long-term success.
This is a full-time, paid internship with approximately 40 hours per week of work. The program is hybrid, with at least 3 days in-office in Chicago and the remainder of the week being remote. The
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Rising Junior (Class of 2027) with a strong interest in pursuing a full-time career in private equity
- Enthusiasm for investing at the intersection of healthcare and technology
- Demonstrated analytical and research skills, with a detail-oriented and self-driven work ethic
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities
- Strong academic performance with a minimum 3.7 GPA
