Paralegal Case Manager
The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Paralegal/Case Manager to support the Department of Justice. This position plays a critical role and involves working on high-profile criminal fraud cases. We are seeking self-starters who wish to have an positive impact on these very important cases. This is an opportunity for you to partner with the attorneys to deliver case management and database assistance to win cases. The Paralegal/Case Manager role works closely with federal prosecutors supporting the Health Care Fraud Unit in a fast-paced setting. We assist in the investigation and prosecution of serious matters and enforce the laws of the United States. Responsibilities:
The Paralegal works under the direction of Supervisory Paralegal. In this role, you will provide litigation support including but not limited to the following:
Compile, prepare, and summarize case materials for use by attorneys in discovery and in preparation of motions, briefs and other legal documents.
Summarize depositions and other transcripts; maintain case files and perform legal research
Index, track and control document discovery (including documents produced and received in discovery).
Index, track and exhibits and other materials at depositions and at trial.
Prepare exhibits including cross-reference logs.
Support attorneys in the courtroom.
Reviews documents for relevance and privilege according to established guidelines and criteria.
Qualifications:
Required:
Requires a four-year college degree.
Additionally, at least one year of litigation paralegal experience or project experience (including internships) related to health care, project or document management, policy, research, government staffing, publishing; or equivalent experience.
Requires excellent written and oral communication skills, thorough knowledge and hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications, including word processing, databases (such as document review and file management systems), spreadsheets, imaging, and hardware systems
Requires technological proficiency in Microsoft Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Must have an understanding on how electronically stored information (computer files) work within an operating system including experience effectively managing, organizing, and analyzing digital files and folders.
Transferable skills related to Electronically Stored Information (ESI) tools and eDiscovery procedures and resources. Coding skills are welcomed, although not required.
Ability to consistently deliver highest quality work under extreme pressure will be very important.
DOJ MBI must be obtainable (US Citizenship required).
